Rekless Racing > Rekless Vendors > SD Concept Engineering
SDCE
Hi! I was told about this site from a couple of your members, and decided to come by!

We are a performance shop in West Warwick, RI that has been in business since 1995. My name is Chris, but the business is owned by Scott and Wendy. We specialize in forced induction applications and engine building, but do all performance related work. In the past we have specialized in domestic vehicles, but recently have been branching out into the import world. We also sell parts and can meet or beat Summit or anyone else on just about any piece you need.

You may of seen our Orange Challenger, its been on the covers of Hot Rod and Mopar Action; as well as being featured in several other magazines. The car goes 8.50@158mph in the 1/4; and 8.90@149mph in full street trim. Many of our customer's vehicles have also been featured in numerous magazines through the years.

We have been a ProCharger dealer since they opened, and have been making our own kits for Chrysler cars and trucks for a long time. We also sell any other brand of supercharger or turbo out there. Need an engine built? EFI, or carburated...we build and tune them all! Recently we came out with our own single and twin turbo kits for a variety of GM vehicles; and are currently working on a twin turbo kit for Mopar muscle cars and 5.9 and 5.2 trucks.

Looking for a stand-alone fuel injection setup? We are an EMIC certified Accel DFI dealer, as well as a FAST dealer.

Our new website is: http://www.sd-concepts.com. The online store is down, and by the looks of it...may be down for a while. But let me know if you have any product questions...we carry or make it all!! The customer gallery is only a small sample of the cars we have built in the past 15yrs

All our videos are at http://www.youtube.com/sdconcepts and http://members.streetfire.net/profile/SDCE.htm

For the local guys (New England), we have a Land+Sea chassis dyno if you want to see what your car is putting down; and we also have tuning software for all GM and Ford vehicles from OBD1-Present. Don't own a GM or Ford? We also are an SCT dealer and can get programers for your Dodge, and can also burn chips for your OBD1 Honda. Already ditched your factory ECM for a stand-alone or piggyback? We are well versed in most of the engine managment programs out there today. Let me know if you guys want to put together a Rekless Dyno Day sometime this coming season!

I will be in touch, I will get my list together. I will need a bunch of push lock fittings and a pressure regulator very shortly. I have the rest of the shit. I will fill you in on my mustang. I have a 96 cobra with a built 01 motor with 10.5:1 compression with all forged internals, a six speed and a built rear with 4.30's. Car is fun. It put down 320. I picked up a D1-SC setup off a guy with the same car and a bunch of other shit, He went twin turbo. His car went from 260 to just under 500hp.His car is now 700! So mine should be nasty! It will be done this summer.

I'm assuming DSP is Diablo.... Yes! We can get their hand-helds and do the tuning as well!

We just had a '97 Cobra dressed up as a Saleen in the shop with a Vortech on it! He came for some tuning and to up his power; we went from a 3.3 pulley to a 2.85, added our methanol kit and he went from 430hp to 495hp at the tires.

Sounds fun! That high of a compression ratio may limit you on your boost and power output, but that engine would LOVE methanol injection in place of an intercooler! Only other thing i'd recommend is lowering the gear ratio....those 4.30's limit you to just under 125mph in 4th gear; which a 500hp car can easily attain in the 1/4. If you don't want to change the gearing, I'd recommend a taller tire, probably a 28", which would give you 135 in 4th gear.

As far as fittings, we've got two walls of them, and PLENTY of push-lock stuff! If we don't have it on the shelf, we can usually get it next day.

Absolutly we can do your cam swap! Do you have the parts already? Shoot me a PM with the info!

I am going to run the intercooler and meth, And as far as gearing issue it has a six speed. I don't plan on much 1/4 mile stuff just a street terror!

We usually recommend against running both intercooler and methanol injection, and usually go with JUST the methanol. If an intercooler is doing it's job properly, the air temp is already low....which means the methanol won't evaporate properly. If that is the case, you now have un-evaporated LIQUID methanol going through an intake manifold that is only designed to evenly/properly distribute AIR, not LIQUID....some people never have problems, but is is one more variable we choose not to introduce to the cars we build. Besides, we have ALWAYS seen a gain in power removing the intercooler and going with just meth...you get a bump in boost as there is no more flow restriction, and the intake charge temp is just about always lower (in addition to the octane boost).

I understand it has the 6spd, so that helps you out with cruising, but believe me, blower motors like lower gearing. As I said, you can get away with a 28" tall tire which will kill the gearing a little bit, and help out on traction as well.

Let me know what you need for fittings!

Sweet thanks, When I am ready I will let you know
