so i went back to windmill today, saw on the site they had a 2006 cbr 600rr, 1680mi, only mod was a scorpion exhaust, asking price $6995. did my research, book value was 6450, trade in was at 4800. looked at the bike, was real clean, whatever. so i go talk to kevin the sales manager there. tell him im interested in talking price, im paying cash, he says hold on, goes in his office for a few minutes comes out and tells me, yea sorry that price has been lowered already and i cant go any lower on it, maybe if it sits there till july i can give you a few hundred off. so i kaughed at him and told him, wellll your already asking 600 over book value. and his response was well not really because you have to take the book value, factor in the mileage, and add 15% to that to get the real value so its worth it. i told him i goud get a new 09 cbr for a grand more, his response, yea well mine offers a 30 day warranty. me- well the new bike has a 1 year warranty. him, sorry i dont want to waste your time, wish i could help you out but i cant come down at all on the price of that bike. me- yea well i guess ill just have to go somewhere that actually wants to sell bikes. him- yea i guess so.

fuckin prick, obviously the place only knows how to deal with morons who dont know a thing about money. i hope they dont sell annother bike till next december.

in all honesty they probably would have worked more with you if you did finance, reason being when someone pays cash the dealer doesnt end up making any money off the financing. the trick is to go in and get a price on paper before you mention that your going to pay cash that way u have them over a barrell.

Windmill tried selling me an 01 Rc51 for 8995 about 3 years ago, same shit, bike was only worth 7999 in the book. I told him that and I got the same bullshit line. I bought mine an 02 for 6000.00 go figure....Windmill blows!!!

It doesn't sound like there's many good dealers out there at all. When I first started looking for a bike waaay back in early 05, I went to a local dealer who had a brand new, never sold, never oiled, never fired SV650. They wanted $5200 for it. You could buy a brand new 05 SV from the same shop for $6200. So why sell the new-old bike for only $1k less?

I asked and offered $4k out the door. I think the salesman was in shock that I *dared* to offer him less than what they were asking. I just got up and left.

What's crazy is they had not one, not two, but about 10 bikes of various brands and models that were 3 or more years old. I guess they must bend people over for service because they sure as hell aren't moving bikes.
