ok i got a flat tappet motor (306)and the push rods i have are too short for the roller rockers i have, i was told the measure the pushrod and just order new ones, someone on here must know older motors really good. motor is outta an 85 its a non roller motor, can someone come over and show me what the hell i'm doing with this part, the rest i'm allset with just one step i'm stuck on,

You need a pushrod length tool.

andy do you know if the motor has ever been decked? how positive would you be on those pushrods?

would never be positive without a pushrod check tool, try autozone think they have them, don't know if it was ever decked, don't think so
