What is the darkest legal tint I can have done on my car in mass? Also can I do any tint like a lighter tint on the driver and passanger window or will I get an R sticker hehe?

Legally you can't be darker than 35%. Assuming you have A/C you cannot put on 35% and be OK. All cars with A/C come with a slight tint from the factory. An example is Nicole's car. Her tint is 35% on a car with A/C. If you put a meter on it it will register about 25%. What sucks is the next lightest tint I know of is 50%. It's barely noticeable. If your inspection is in one of the warmer months, I'd say dooooo eeeeeeeeet! I haven't had a problem going for my inspections with the windows down. The rule is the same for all side windows and the rear window. The windshield according to the law, you can paint black above the AS1 line

well wat ever you do i got a guy that will give you a sticker with tint you just gotta toss him a few extra bucks but unfortunatly i cant get my sticker yet cause my check engine light came on again monster cams r causin missfires lol

my bro got 42% at some place in Shrewsbury..so i guess if you have a/c you could go with 42% and still be legal or close to it

if it's obd2 i got a scanner and will be woosta next week if you want it shut off

I say get inspected first then get your tint cause not to sound like a jerk but you will prob rip or tear your tint or it will get pitted and streeky within the 2 years before your sticker is due again and at that point you could rip it off and get new tint with an "excuse" This is not the case for everyone but most people and please please please do not use windex if you tint your windows use invisable glass or eagle 1 as they are both tint safe (no amonia) window cleaners and call me if you want me to set you up with someone to do it

My camaro has 20% and now I need a sticker. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! I am almost thinking of remving my windows to get my sticker. I may just buy some spares to put in there. yes that will suck but I may not have a choice.

I have 18% on my truck, never had an issue, I think Commercial plates have different window laws???? Not sure though. I have had 4 trucks with black windows and no problems yet.....knocks on wood.

best glass cleaner, tinted or not is sprayway no. 50 foaming glass cleaner.


Spray it on a little, and use one of two methods:

Wipe with newspaper (yes, newspaper), then flip over to a dry side and lightly wipe away excess.

Wipe first with one microfiber cloth, then follow with a second completely dry cloth to remove excess.


If you do either of these methods correctly itll clean the window perfectly and will not streak.

I got a $300 ticket in attleboro on my camaro for window tint and it read 32%. Now i have 20%, reading 14% on my sides and rear windows and 35% on my windshield. Looks nice though on the 300, cant even see in lol

just did 13% on the cruiser, look's dark as hell

Commercial plates do have different applicable laws.. I know in RI, if you rock commercial plates, your rear door windows and rear vehicle window can be painted black, as long as you have 2 outside mirrors. Reasoning for this is that you may be carrying merchandise, and therefore privacy is in order.

I have 20% throughout the Max, with the windshield done 1/3 the way down.. never any issues! If fact, I just got it inspected last week!!

The Blazer is factory tinted 20% in the rear. I added 20% to the front windows to match. The windshield is tinted 35% top to bottom! On an overcast/cloudy day or at night, you cant see in at all! With the sun beating directly on the windshield, you can just make out silhouettes. I have gotten 1 ticket, in Pawtucket, which I paid and was on my way! lol Besides that I dont get looked at twice, but I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact that it's an SUV. I dont dare to tint the Max's windshield, although I wanna REAL BAD!!

When I drive around in a car that ISN'T tinted, I feel naked.. LMAO.

BTW, Marks boy does legit work! He tinted the W/S on the Blazer, perfecto!

I remember I had alot of issues with cops and Tint with the Max Windshield was tinted 15% Top to Bottom...and Sides and back were 5% whoch measured 2 or 3... LOL that shit was stupid dark
