*******I just want to thank Josh for helping me out on this. It was him that mentioned the 3M products specifically the perfect it 3000 stuff that I used on the black to get rid of all the minor scratches and what not*********

I finally have Rocket looking how he should have when I got him back. There's still minor touch ups here or there and I still can't throw a coat of wax on it which will make a massive difference as well but at least the silver has some damn reflection to it!!!

8hrs wet sanding a buffing. Steps:
Wet sand 1000, 1500, 2000

Rotary
Buff with wool pad, tons of water and 3M rubbing compound
Buff with polishing foam pad, tons of water and 3M polishing compound
Buff with finishing pad, tons of water and 3M scratch/swirl remover (for now this brings out the shine)
Wash

Orbital
Buff all black with 3M finishing stuff meant for black paint. can't remember what it's called.
Coat all black plastic in Black wow
Wash

It's such a relief to have it looking the way it does now. It's still not totally up to par but I don't look at it and cringe followed by wanting to cry cuz it looked so bad.

*Note: 8Hrs was JUST the silver parts, not including the front bumper and fenders. They were done the week I got it back*

Anyways, heres pics

Thank You Sarah.
What a difference!
I'm with you there on the 8 hours. It takes forever to watersand and buff but the results are usually work it..

Anytime anyone needs some advice on what to use hit me up.
Good job and thanks again!

Thanks guys.

Kellz, yeea for the most part it matches up with the fender but the bumper not so much. it all falls into the nightmare we've been having with this car lol.

Thats myth has been around for a while.... Most clearcoats now can be watersanded and buffed with 48 hours. You have to put a protectant on it after the vehicle has been buffed and glazed, which would be wax...It was true back in the day with lacquer finishes or single stage paints...
